The controversial hitmaker, who is already behind bars, allegedly landed in more trouble after cops claimed they found prohibited items, including drugs, in his possession inside the Polokwane holding cells on Tuesday, 10 February.
Police said the discovery led to two awaiting-trial prisoners being arrested.
Limpopo police spokesman Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed the bust.
“We can confirm the arrest of two awaiting-trial prisoners for possession of drugs as well as other prohibited items in the police cells in Polokwane. They are aged 28 and 30,” he said.
Ledwaba said cops are still probing how the items were smuggled into the cells.
“The suspects’ identities cannot be disclosed until their court appearance,” he said.
At the Polokwane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, National Prosecuting Authority spokeswoman Mashudu Malabi-Dzangi said the docket had been received by the senior public prosecutor, but the case was not enrolled.
“The docket has been received here at the Polokwane Magistrates Court by the senior public prosecutor.
“However, the matter has not been enrolled due to the fact that there are some other things the SAPS need to complete.”
“The allegations are related to Lehlohonolo Katlego Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt,” she said.
Meanwhile, Shebeshxt’s lawyer Lot Ramusi said his client was not found in possession of drugs.
“It’s a lie that my client was found with drugs. I was informed police wanted to add charges, but they are legally unfounded.”

“There were no drugs in his possession. After proper representation, the charges could not stand, and the matter was not enrolled,” said Ramusi to Daily Sun.
The musician is currently facing nine serious charges, including three counts of murder. He is expected back in the dock on Wednesday, 18 February 2026.
