They are facing murder, conspiracy to commit murder and robbery with aggravating circumstances charges.
These stem from an incident that occurred in White River in 2017 at Mdluli’s home.
It’s alleged that Ethel orchestrated the murder of her husband, Solomon Mdluli, who was a school principal.
It’s also alleged that on the night of 23 January 2017, two men entered the couple’s home and found Ethel and her kids asleep while the deceased was watching TV.
The two men allegedly assaulted, suffocated, and strangled the deceased with a rope until he succumbed to his injuries.
The perpetrators are further alleged to have fled the scene with a TV, cellphones, and a car.
State Advocate Robert Molokoane told the court he intended making an application to submit a statement made by another accused who was involved in the matter.
Meanwhile, the legal representatives of the accused requested the court give them time to consult and decide on the application that the state wants to make.
