A teenager from Senekal in the Free State is in police custody for allegedly killing an eight-year-old girl on Thursday.
The body of Naledi Ramaisa was found stashed inside a thousand-litre blue container, inside a locked shack.

According to the police, the child was reported missing by her aunt, and a search commenced in the area.
Police say the following day, they noticed a foul smell coming from a locked house, where they forced open the door, making the gruesome discovery.
Information gathered at the scene revealed that the shack’s owner was in Welkom but had left it in the care of his 16-year-old nephew.
Police fetched the suspect from school, where he confessed to hitting the deceased with a rock while she was picking peaches.

He further stated that he dragged her into the shack and placed her in the drum when he realised she was unconscious.
The teenager will make his first court appearance on Monday.
