A shootout at the South Africa–Zimbabwe border has led to the arrest of two foreign nationals and the recovery of three high-value vehicles by the SANDF.

Soldiers patrolling the Madimbo region came under fire while attempting to stop a speeding Toyota Fortuner suspected of heading toward an illegal crossing.

After a brief exchange of fire, the suspects fled across the border.

Following a mop-up operation with backup support, SANDF troops recovered the Toyota Fortuner, a hidden Volvo XC60, and a Toyota Hilux.
