A Police constable was arrested for allegedly raping a woman at a police station.
This after the 31-year-old victim from North West was allegedly raped on 2 December 2025 at a police station.

The shocking incident happened at Phokeng Police Station after a foreign national woman and her boyfriend had a domestic dispute.
The 27-year-old constable was helping the victim. It’s alleged that the incident happened upstairs at the police station where the victim was allegedly ordered to undress and then was raped.
The incident was reported to police by a local clinic.
According to IPID spokeswoman Lizzy Suping, it’s alleged that the accused was dealing with a complaint between two lovers.
He released the boyfriend to go home to fetch his passport and kept the girlfriend behind.
“The boyfriend was allegedly requested to bring his passport to the police station as the couple are both foreign nationals.”
“The accused constable threatened to arrest the woman and took her to an office within the police station premises, where he raped her,” she said.

She further said that the IPID took over the case on 11 December 2025, and the accused was positively identified by the victim during an identity parade.
“He was arrested on the spot. The accused is detained at a local police station before his first appearance,” said Suping.
