Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa) spokesman Prem Balram said their members and Metro police responded to an unnamed road after reports of gunfire.

“On arrival, a man was found lying next to a red Toyota Corolla with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, neck, face and chest. He was declared dead at the scene.”

“According to initial accounts, he had been installing a music system in the vehicle when the shooting occurred,” he said.

He said the residents informed reaction officers that a second victim, believed to be a teen, was also shot and transported privately to a medical facility where he was reportedly declared dead on arrival.

“First responders were unable to immediately confirm this information. Witnesses reported hearing several shots before a vehicle sped away. The motive for the killings remains unknown,” he said.

“It’s reported that a 33-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy were installing radio system when a white vehicle with two occupants stopped next to them. One of the occupants opened fire, fatally wounding the man.
