Hugo Broos has painted a picture that appears blurry around the possibility of Themba Zwane being part of the Bafana Bafana squad that will be doing duty at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Bafana have successfully qualified for the 2025 AFCON, which is set to get underway on 21 December in Morocco, and will be aiming to better their bronze medal finish from 2023 edition.

Broos has previously been clear on his desire to have both Zwane and Sipho Mbule available for the continental competition.
However, with ‘Mshishi’ having suffered a fresh injury blow on his return from a previous one, the Belgian is under no illusions about the likelihood of the veteran travelling to the biennial tournament.
“Themba… I will see. He’s injured at the moment again. I don’t know… If he will not play in the next two weeks, we have to forget him.
“He didn’t play all season, so I think for AFCON, it will be difficult for Themba, very difficult. But yeah, I still hope for next year.”

“But we will see,” said Broos when asked about the Mamelodi Sundowns skipper.
