It ended in tears for thugs as one of them lost his leg during the heist in Ekurhuleni on Tuesday morning.
According to Daily Sun, A robber allegedly lost his leg and part of his spine during the incident in Thokoza, Ekurhuleni.
This occurred when the money truck was bombed in the brazen attack.
The thugs smashed into the cash van on the front with a silver BMW when they tried to stop it.
It’s alleged one of the thugs came out of the car with live explosives trying to bomb the cash van.
The bomb exploded, causing him to sustain injuries, including a dislocated leg and damage to his spine.
Residents were drawn to the scene by the sound of explosions during the heist.
According to a source, the gang of thugs took along their injured accomplice.
“The residents in the area called the police after seeing the Fidelity vehicle being bombed. He said the thugs left empty-handed.
“However, the suspects had already fled the scene in various cars when the police arrived. Currently, no suspect has been arrested,” said the source.
Another resident said she heard loud bangs.
“After hearing the loud bangs and gunshots, I had to run for my life. The scene was horrific and devastating, and the windows in some houses were damaged.”
