Betway Premiership side Cape Town City have announced the departure of their head coach Eric Tinkler following poor results this season.

Former Orlando Pirates and Supersport united coach Eric Tinkler has been with The Citizens for almost four seasons where he has helped the side to qualify for the CAF Champions League for the very first time in their history.

After a poor run of results which saw City sitting 12th in the league table with 11 points from 10 matches, winning only three matches, drawing two, and losing five, the former Orlando Pirates mentor had been threading on thin ice.

iDiski Times revealed that Cape Town City had a long meeting this morning discussing the way forward, and it’s understood that Tinkler reached a mutual agreement with the club to part ways.

The Citizens have two tough fixtures coming up in the next few days with Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates coming down to Cape Town.
