A man who is believed be 21 years old has been arrested as he is suspected in a case where a woman who’s body was found inside a stolen Range Rover.
The vehicle, along with items suspected to have been stolen, was found at a petrol station in Moreletta Park, Tshwane, on 24 August.
According to police reports, the suspect was traced to the petrol station following an intense manhunt.
The arrest came after a preliminary investigation suggested that the woman had been killed during a house robbery in Standerton, Mpumalanga Province, on the evening of 23 August.
The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, as details of the crime continue to unfold.
The police believe the woman was attacked during the robbery at her home, where the assailant reportedly took several valuables before fleeing the scene in her luxury vehicle.
The alarm was raised when neighbors noticed suspicious activity and contacted authorities, leading to the discovery of the crime.
Law enforcement quickly launched an investigation, tracking the stolen vehicle to Tshwane. The suspect was apprehended at the petrol station, where he was reportedly attempting to refuel the vehicle.
