Kaizer Chiefs have two legends left – Itumeleng Khune and Erick Mathoho. Now, one of them is linked with a shock move to Amakhosi’s PSL rivals.
TS Galaxy are interested in signing Amakhosi legend, Mathoho, according to SoccerLaduma.
The Tower’s contract is nearing it’s end and The Rockets are ready to launch a bid.
Galaxy are adamant to sign Amakhosi legend Mathoho at the end of the season.
Furthermore, Mathoho’s contract comes to an end in July – at the end of the current season.
Meaning, he will be able to sign for any prospective club. Technically, he is even illegible to sign for anyone on a pre-contract right now but this is unlikely to happen until his contract runs out.
Unfortunately, it does seem that his illustrious Amakhosi career is coming to an end though. After a decade of rock-solid tackles, powerful clearances, solid blocks and interceptions, Mathoho’s time at Naturena appears over.
Mathoho is likely to remain sidelined for the majority, if not, most of his time left with the Glamour Boys.
Hopefully, he can finish his career with some silverware in the Nedbank Cup. This is his last opportunity to do so with Amakhosi if he is leaving at the end of the season – which now seems more likely then not.
Regardless, he will bow out an Amakhosi legend.
Inspiring future stars of Naturena. For now, Zitha Kwinika has stepped up as the present star alongside Siyabonga Ngezana.
