Kaizer Chiefs might not have any player in the Bafana Bafana squad that will face Liberia in back-to-back to AFCON qualifiers but there’s some consolation.
The good news, though, is that no fewer than FOUR first team players will be on national team duty in the upcoming FIFA break.
Samkelo Zwane and Mduduzi Shabalala have both made David Notoane’s final U23 squad that will face Congo Brazzaville in the Olympic qualifiers next week.
Furthermore, Bonflis-Caleb Bimenyimana will jet out of the country to link up with his Burundi teammates for two international friendly matches to be played in Kenya.
In addition, Edmilson Dove also got a call-up from the Mozambique national team for the AFCON qualifier against Senegal next week.
When Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos announced his final squad for back-to-back AFCON qualifying matches against Liberia, Kaizer Chiefs fans had hoped to see Brandon Petersen included.
After all, Petersen was the only Chiefs player in the 35-man provisional squad that Broos announced last week.
However, Broos went with Ronwen Williams, Veli Mothwa and Ricardo Goss when he announced his final squad for the Liberia tie.
