Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is reportedly trying to force a move to Kaizer Chiefs, BUT he’s doing it the wrong way, according to reports.
TimesLIVE reports, through a source known to them, that Jali is frustrated that Sundowns don’t want to allow him to leave simply because his heart is with Chiefs.
The publication claims that Jali, at one stage, arrived at Chloorkop for training under the influence of alcohol as an indication that he no longer wants to be at Sundowns.
The 32-year-old midfield anchor has been one of Sundowns’ best players in recent years, especially during the 2021-22 season.
However, with his contract coming to an end, and the two parties – Jali and Sundowns – not agreeing terms on a new deal, things have reportedly got messy.
It is unclear, at this stage, if Sundowns have or will take disciplinary action against Jali for the alleged incident, and perhaps try and meet him halfway on his demands.
But one thing is for sure, Sundowns don’t want to lose Jali for free, especially to Chiefs as they previously have with the likes of Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Khama Billiat.
“One source said he believed Jali, who was a star player at Downs in 2021-22 but battling for game time this season, is frustrated the club does not want to release him from the remaining months of his contract so he can join Kaizer Chiefs, who have shown interest in signing him,” reports the publication.
