Football is a game of mistakes, but the team that has discipline and proper game plan can win the match.
What could be challenging for players is working on their confidence after being dragged on social media by the club’s supporters. This was visible when Orlando Pirates lost 1-0 against their arch rivals Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium.
The Sea Robbers supporters have noticed a disappointing trend at Mayfair and they felt that they’ll have to address before its too late.
According to the club’s hopefuls, they can’t accept the performance of their goalkeeper Sipho Chaine who was brought before the start of the current campaign.
There was hope that he’ll be able to showcase his talents and experience in Pirates colours, however after the Chiefs game he hasn’t impressed the club’s fans as they feel that he should be dropped on the upcoming match.
As they questioned his goalkeeper skills, after coming out of his line when he had his defense covering the long ball that sent by Edmilson Dove to the Pirates box, but ended up at the back of the net.
As their defender Olisa Ndah handed it to his own net, hoping that Chaine had it covered, but he was way out of his line.
“You guys really don’t wanna play like for real. What was Ndlondlo doing in the middle. Chaine keeps making blunder saves.. why he stepped out of his line though but there are his defenders avail?” questioned @HimuraMokoena on Twitter.
Pirates has lost two DStv Premiership encounters against their neighbours in similar fashion as their goalkeepers Chaine and Siyabonga Mpontshane seem like they can’t read the game properly.
As they don’t know when to leave their box and there’s lack of communication between them and their defense.
Hence, the fans felt that Richard Ofori should reclaim his number one spot in the shot-stopper’s department.
Meanwhile, other fans felt that Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo shouldn’t be given game time too as he’s lacking in his midfield position.
“I never like Ndlondlo and Chaine shame yho,” said Lungile on Twitter.
“Chaine must go back to the bench. Ofori needs to come back. Also to hell with building from the back without a plan and ball players!” said Ovi on Twitter.
