Former Kaizer Chiefs ace Junior Khanye has lashed out at the current crop of Amakhosi players.
The dribbling wizard, who now acts as an analyst, has named and shamed players who he believes are not up to par to be ‘Glamour Boys’.
According to Khanye, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is a ‘scam’. Fellow new foreign signing Christian Saile Basomboli, though better, is also showing signs of being a scam.
His latest rant came after the Amakhosi suffered yet another loss, this time at the hands of Golden Arrows over the weekend.
“You know I don’t like hype, especially around an international player like Saile. I mean two, three runs, well he is better than the other one, [Caleb Bimenyimana], not that he is good, he is better but..” the former Amakhosi star said as quoted by Thisisfootball.
“You can even write this one down, I’m not fooled. There’s a bit of a scam there too. But he is better than that one who plays 9 because you can see his touch when he receives the ball.
“When you play for the team he plays for, because of the history of the players that they have signed before, it is understandable why he is hyped.
“There is an expectation because of people like Collins Mbesuma, Tinashe Nengomasha. I’m talking about the likes of Patrick Mabedi.
“We are talking about people who are at a different level. So when you are an international player we are going to have such expectations. We are going to expect that kind of standard.”
