There was drama apparently during the DStv Premiership classic between Kaizer Chiefs and Golden Arrows last Sunday.
Abafana Bes’thende defeated the Amakhosi 3-2 in an end-to-end battle at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
During this epic, Lungelo Dube, son of Golden Arrows owner Mato Madlala, was subbed off in the 35th minute of the match as his team was overrun by the hosts, with his replacement Siyabonga Khumalo helping to stem the flow.
A source supposedly told The Citizen about the substitution:
“He was visibly unhappy and didn’t come back to sit on the bench after half-time. He just left and I am not sure if he sat in the stands or went to the team bus. But he was not there.”
Earlier this month, The South African reported that Royal AM chairman Andile Mpisane spat out his dummy following his disastrous and much-talked-about cameo as captain of the DStv Diski Challenge team.
Mpisane was subbed off having started as captain in a 1-1 draw against AmaZulu, proving ineffective in the 60 minutes that he played.
As far as Royal AM coach, John Maduka is concerned, Andile Mpisane can break through into the first team’s starting line-up.
The 21-year-old club chairman put on a disastrous performance last Saturday when he started as captain of the DStv Diski Challenge team which drew 1-1 against AmaZulu.
He is yet to make an official appearance for the senior team, despite being on the bench throughout the season.
