The latest reports coming out of Andile Jali’s camp at Mamelodi Sundowns spells good news for Kaizer Chiefs fans. However, it may come at a cost for one of their best players.
Amakhosi and Jali have re-opened talks with a source close to the Sundowns player confirming that he is not fully against the idea of joining the Soweto giants.
Furthermore, if the move does materialize Jali will demand that he keeps the number 15 jersey, meaning Nkosingiphile Ngcobo kit number is under threat. So, what does this mean for the bright young Amakhosi star?
Ngcobo is arguably one of the finest talents at Naturena.
However, Jali was a star before anyone even knew Ngcobo existed. He is a PSL veteran who made his name playing for Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana before joining The Brazilians.
Now, Jali has established himself as a PSL veteran and a leader on and off the pitch.
He has attracted interest from the likes of Amakhosi and the Bucs and it.
Turns out he is not against joining Amakhosi under one condition – he wears the number 15 jersey, according to Phakaaati.
Meaning, Ngcobo’s jersey is under threat should the move take place. However, this does not mean that the talented midfield would leave Amakhosi.
If the move does materialize, it is more likely than not that Ngcobo will just change his jersey number.
