Kaizer Chiefs will reportedly seek to retain the services of young keeper Bontle Molefe by offering him a new deal.

Young 20-year-old keeper Bontle Molefe hasn’t featured for the senior team since taking the step up into the wider squad, but this is more as a result of the incredible competition Chiefs have in this position.

The talented youngster is now in the final few months of his contract, but Soccer Laduma reports that Chiefs are keen to offer him a new deal before the end of the season.

At the moment Molefe is fourth in the pecking order, and it will be interesting to see whether he is happy with the Chiefs terms that could be presented, or whether he could consider a move elsewhere in search of more game-time.

As it is, last year it was reported that Molefe could be considering an exit from Naturena due to his lack of matchday opportunities. So this is a story certainly worth keeping an eye on.

Just this week, Bruce Bvuma spoke about the importance of patience after he fell behind Brandon Pietersen and Itumeleng Khune in the ranks.

“At Chiefs we have very good goalkeepers… the competition is very high. At the moment, Brandon is doing so well,” said Bvuma.

“So, as he is doing well, we are supporting him and you cannot expect the coach to make changes because he is doing well for the team.

“For me, as I am not playing at the moment, I have to keep working hard and make sure that I am ready because you never know what is going to happen.

“That’s what the coach keeps saying, that I must keep working hard because my chance will come,” added Bvuma.
