Mamelodi Sundowns are powering to a sixth consecutive league title while their quest for continental honours is also off to a positive start.

Despite their superb form, the Brazilians have been linked with major coaching changes.

According to The South African, Mamelodi Sundowns are set to offload senior coach Manqoba Mngqithi!

Mngqithi was demoted from his co-coach position at the beginning of the campaign, with Rhulani Mokwena taking complete control of the side after a stuttering start to the season.

And now, a surprise new assistant coach is tipped to replace Manqoba Mngqithi at the Brazilians!

According to reports, former Orlando Pirates youth coach and analyst Michael Loftman is set to be named as Rhulani Mokwena’s new assistant coach!

“ThisIsFootball.Africa can announce that runaway league leaders Sundowns will announce a new assistant coach for next season.” a report read regarding Manqoba Mngqithi’s replacement.

“At the moment nothing has been confirmed, but numerous sources close to the deal have confirmed to us that the deal is done and that Mamelodi Sundowns will announce 32 year old Englishman Michael Loftman as their new addition to their coaching team before the start of the new season.”

“[The] Champions League is important for Mamelodi Sundowns football club especially with the objectives set.” Rhulani Mokwena said.

“This season we plan to try our best to win every match and competition. Al-Hilal is doing very well in the league. We’ve managed to get a little bit of their videos against Simba SC and Azam FC.

“We know we have to play against a good side with impressive physical profiles that their players have. This includes their speed on counterattacks when they sit on a low block.”
