Kaizer Chiefs were dealt a major blow after a key first team player was ruled out for the remainder of the season through injury.
Kaizer Chiefs will have to make-do without the services of one of their key players for the remainder of the season.
Arthur Zwane has confirmed that Khama Billiat’s season is over due to injury.
The Zimbabwean ace underwent surgery on a groin injury and will not return to action until at least next season.
Billiat made earned nine starts for the Glamour Boys this season, the last of which coming in Chiefs’ incredible 1-0 Soweto derby victory in October 2022.
“Currently, our injury list consists of Khama Billiat, who had surgery to repair a torn groin muscle. He’ll be out for the rest of the season. ” – Kaizer Chiefs physiotherapist David Milner said.
“We don’t want to lose games at all. We don’t want to create that chain of losing because it kills our morale. We’ll try to stop it.” the Kaizer Chiefs coach told TimesLive.
“We have to keep on helping the players not to lose focus. Not that they’re not doing well. I would panic if we were not doing well in terms of playing.
“We’ve been unfortunate not to score goals. Even in the last game [Sundowns] we played we created six or seven chances through the pressure we applied.
“Not many teams will do that against Sundowns where you pressed and forced them to make mistakes. But we were not clinical enough to take those chances.”
