Mozambique international playmaker Amâncio ‘Neymar’ Canhembe has been training with Sekhukhune United after his recent assessment at Kaizer Chiefs.
The former Sporting Lisbon academy player was not offered a contract at Amakhosi, with head coach Arthur Zwane stating he provided a technical report to management over the player – who was training alongside Stanley Ratifo and Christian Saile – who has since joined the club from Nchanga Rangers.
Babina Noko has since invited the player to train with the team over the past two weeks, and while they have been impressed with his displays in recent friendly games, no decision has been made by Brandon Truter at present.
Canhembe, who has offers from the Botola Pro and in his homeland within the Mocombola has reiterated his desire to continue his career in South Africa after four years in Portugal.
However, with the 25-year-old itching to get back into the professional game, he could look to take up a short-term deal at Moroccan club Olympique Club de Khouribga who are currently fighting to retain their top-flight status.
