AmaZulu are understood to have offered captain Makhehleni Makhaula to Orlando Pirates for a January move after he signed a pre-contract with the Buccaneers.
Makhaula, 33, agreed to join Pirates on a free transfer, in a move which surprised many, as first reported by SABC Sport.

But he could, in fact, already move before the January transfer window deadline, as AmaZulu have instructed Makhaula’s camp to ask Pirates to sign him now for close to R1 million, according to a source.
Folz said Makhaula, who has missed the last two matches due to an injury he picked in the 4-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs, is not far off to be back in the side.
“He went to do some sprints to check his injury and he was still feeling it,” said Folz.
“So he has less pain now, he should be back any time.”
The player was in the stands for Usuthu’s 1-1 against Richards Bay alongside his agent Sizwe Ntshangase.
iDiski Times has learnt that, despite Makhaula having signed a pre-contract with Pirates, there is no thought to banish him from the team because he is seen as an important player for Usuthu.

They will not do what they did to Siyethemba Sithebe, who – when he signed a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs at the same time last year – was banished to the stands for the entire second half of last season.
That won’t happen to Makhaula, who has been a big servant for Usuthu since he arrived ahead of the 2020/21 season from Highlands Park, as is seen as an important player of Folz’s squad.
