Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane says he is not worried over his job, as pressure mounts following bad results.

Chiefs are on a bad patch after losing two consecutive matches against Sekhukhune United on the club’s 53rd birthday and were humiliated 4-0 by AmaZulu last Friday.

As a result, Amakhosi fell 19 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, whom they meet on Saturday at FNB Stadium and pressure is mounting on Zwane to turn things around.

The Glamour Boys legend says he is not worried over his job and appealed for patience, as he referenced Arsenal as an example of sticking to the plan even in difficult times and the results will eventually come.

“To be honest I’m not worried because we have a plan as a club and a plan that needs to be executed and if you look at for how many years we have been trying to hit the ground running?”

Zwane responded to questions over his future at the club in a pre-match press conference.

“Did it work for the club? It did not work. Whether we like it or not, at the end of the day we have to do something, there’s many other teams we can make example of in Europe.

“You go to Arsenal right now, why are they doing well? It’s because they had so much patience and belief in whoever they put in there and also giving the opportunity and space to try and work things out.”

The Soweto native coach went on to say that what’s important is the processes that have to be put in place to give Chiefs an identity and not to focus on individuals.

“At the end of the day, if you’re not gonna get it right, someone who’s gonna come-in in future will get a team that can easily grind results, why? Because there’ll be a way of playing, identity and whoever we want from outside, it’s easy, the system itself will profile that player,” he said.

“So the system will profile the players and coaches going forward. It’s not about Arthur Zwane. It’s not about individuals. It’s about the future of this club.

“I’m not worried about myself losing my job because I knew that when I took over this job at some point I’m gonna have to give other people an opportunity,” he carried on.

“What I didn’t know was for how long I’m gonna be at this position. But at this present moment I’ve got a task that I have to fulfill and I’m doing exactly what the team has asked me to do,” he added.
