The January transfer window has just started and Orlando Pirates are already interested in resigning and reuniting with one of their former players.

Bucs management are very interested in signing former star Abbubaker Mobara from PSL rivals Usuthu, according to SoccerLaduma.

The AmaZulu defender played for the Bucs between 2016 and 2019 and now, the Soweto giants are interested in bringing him to Mayfair once more.

The January transfer window is officially open and the Bucs have already signed the likes of Ndumiso Mabena and Craig Martin.

Meaning, one former player (Mabena) has already been signed while Mobara is the next target.

The Usuthu defender has attracted interest from the Bucs.

“There is interest in AmaZulu’S Abbubaker Mobara from Pirates,” the source confirmed.

However, AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz is not keen on letting his defender go.

“In fact, the coach doesn’t want to lose him,” the source added.

Therefore, it will not be easy for the Bucs to pursue Folz and Usuthu to let him go. All hope is not lost though, as big clubs like Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will always have the edge when it comes to transfers due to financial advantage and club reputation.
