Orlando Pirates are set to pull the plug on a deal to sign a Cameroon striker Marou Souaibou that they were reported to have signed a few weeks ago.

On Friday, reports from Cameroon claimed that the deal between Pirates and Coton Sport was concluded earlier this week.

According to Kick442.com, Pirates had to part ways with $200 000 which is just below R3.5 million, and their fans will want to see the results.

Souaibou, 21, took the domestic league by storm this year, and his efforts didn’t go unnoticed as he recently scooped the Footballer of the Year award for 2022.

Last season, Souaibou scored 21 goals across all competitions for Coton Sport, and his club has reportedly agreed to let him join Pirates in January.

Having possibly played his final game for Coton Sport, Marou Souaibou will leave as a legend of 30 goals in 63 competitive matches for the club.
