Mamelodi Sundowns are set to decide on the future of two of their out-of-favour attacking players in the coming days.
Mamelodi Sundowns are open to the prospect of losing TWO attackers in the upcoming January transfer window.
According to the latest reports, both Gift Motupa and Lesedi Kapinga will be allowed to leave the club if a suitable offer arrives.
The duo have struggled for game-time and are believed to be surplus to Rhulani Mokwena’s requirements.
Kapinga last featured for the Brazilians all the way back in August 2022. He’s made just three substitute appearances, with a combined total of 31 minutes on the field of play.
Motupa on the other hand has made just two appearances for his side this season, scoring twice.
According to reports, the Brazilians are open to losing both Kapinga and Motupa in the upcoming transfer window.
While the duo may not leave the club permanently, a loan deal which will involve more game-time for them may benefit both them and the Brazilians in the long run.
“Mamelodi Sundowns, meanwhile, are set to look at what the future holds for the likes of Gift Motupa and Lesedi Kapinga.” a SoccerLaduma report read.
“A decision will be made on the players in the coming months with the club open to letting them leave to get game-time elsewhere.”
Mamelodi Sundowns are also interested in signing Cape Town City star Khanyisa Mayo according to the same publication.
The Brazilians are short up top after both Peter Shalulile and Abubakar Nasir suffered injuries during the first half of the campaign.
Mayo has been one of the standout performers in the league so far this season. He grabbed five goals and one assist so far for the Citizens.
Mamelodi Sundowns are desperate to get the deal done before the CAF Champions League group stages kick-off.
The 2022/23 CAF Champions League group stages begins on 10 February 2022. Rhulani Mokwena will undoubtedly hope his club manage to land the PSL star before that.
