Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be set to meet with veteran midfielder Andile Jali’s representatives imminently to discuss a possible contract extension.
Jali’s current contract with Sundowns is set to expire at the end of June in 2023.
The former Orlando Pirates midfielder will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a club of his choice during the upcoming January transfer window.
However, the Brazilians are believed to have indicated to make a commitment to extending Jali’s stay at the club beyond 2023.
“Sundowns are keen to renew his contract,” a source within the club tells KickOff
“He is an important member of the team.
“The club has already made contact with his representative to express a desire to extend the player’s contract beyond his current deal.”
KickOff understands that both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs are keeping a close eye on the player’s contract situation.
Jali remains a fan-favourite among Brazilians fans after being voted as captain for the recent Carling Black Label Cup tournament on November 12.
Masandawana recently parted company with striker Kermit Erasmus and defender Lyle Lakay while also restructuring its technical team.
