The winner of the LeCoqSportif kit design competition for the 2023 Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana kits has been announced.

According to iDiski times, the kit manufacturer for South Africa’s national team jerseys had asked for local designers to submit their designs, which were then presented to Bafana and Banyana players to vote for their top designs.

Out of over 50 different design entries, five made the initial short-list, which was later cut down to just three.

On Wednesday, LeCoqSportif announced the winning design by FreewayartsD.

“FreewayartsD will be working closely with SAFA and Lecoqsportifza to deliver a kit that is FIFA approved and World Cup ready,” they further stated.

“We know you love the alternate kit as an ode to the ‘96 #AFCON winning team. However, with a little bit of tweaking by FreewayartsD and #Lecoqsportif we’ll look to add elements of Banyana_Banyana and their #WAFCON success this year, in an all time, all inclusive legacy kit.”
