Now, Arthur Zwane and Amakhosi are building up one a RED-HOT and exciting list of January transfer targets! However, everything has a cost and for Chiefs fans, all this new talent does mean that we will be saying goodbye to some fan-favourites, including an Amakhosi legend.

FULL LIST OF CHIEFS’ JANUARY TRANSFER TARGETS:

• PULE MMODI (GOLDEN ARROWS)

• KATLEGO OTLADISA (MARUMO GALLANTS)

• SIBONGISENI MTHETHWA (STELLENBOSCH FC)

• CELIMPILO NGEMA (MARUMO GALLANTS)

• JUNIOR MENDIATA (STELLENBOSCH FC)

Mmodi has been an Amakhosi target for almost a year. Thankfully, it is his dream to play for Chiefs! Therefore, we could see the new Bafana Bafana star in Naturena by January, if everything goes according to plan.

However, Chiefs face stiff competition from Orlando Pirates for three of their targets. Modi will likely choose Chiefs however, they are bidding with the Bucs for the signatures of Otladisa and Mthethwa.

Furthermore, Mthethwa recently made his debut for Bafana Bafana as well. Therefore, he has attracted interest from Mamelodi Sundowns and MaMkhize’s Royal AM too.

Amakhosi’s latest transfer targets, Mendieta and Ngema, have fewer clubs interested. Therefore, they are more likely to find success in theirpursuits to sign them.

Mendieta, is one of the most talented players in the PSL, as is Ngema. These two players could turn Chiefs into quite the force if they come to Naturena.

Unfortunately, what goes up must come down…

As Chiefs build targets, management discusses potential EXITS too because the squad must be balanced and cannot be overloaded. Therefore, the days are numbered for several Amakhosi players. These are the men in danger of leaving Naturena in January

PLAYERS WHO ARE LIKELY TO LEAVE AMAKHOSI

• ERICK MATHOHO

• HAPPY MASHIANE

• KHAMA BILLIAT

• THABANI DUBE

• PHATHUSHEDZO NANGE

Mathoho has confirmed his readiness to leave Naturena. Amidst ongoing rumours of his potential exit from Chiefs. He has served Chiefs with aplomb for over a decade and will be remembered as an Amakhosi legend.

Mashiane has fallen out of favour since his costly red card in the CAF Champions League final against Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahly. Stuart Baxter dropped him while Zwane and Dillon Sheppard kept him amongst the reserves.

Given the talent at left back, he is unlikely to play regularly for Amakhosi. Therefore, he may very well leave in search of game time.

Billiat seems to be running out of time with Chiefs. He is paid to score and lately, that is something he is struggling with.

He has registered no goals and one assist this season. To make matters worse, Caleb -Bonfils Bimenyimana is a new favourite amongst fans while Ashley Du Preez is being backed by Zwane.

Keagan Dolly has returned to form while Kgaogelo Sekgota is Amakhosi’s best player this season. Therefore, Billiat could leave in January unless he works wonders and produces magic in the Soweto derby.
