Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are at it again. This time it is the chase for two different players at the same time.
Imagine being Katlego Otladisa. The winger is reportedly wanted by Chiefs and Pirates, with the Sea Robbers believed to be in the lead.
According to a report in the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, the Glamour Boys made an unsuccessful approach in the recent window to Gallants.
Following Pirates’ recent business with Gallants for Miguel Timm and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, the Sea Robbers have an advantage to scoop Otladisa.
“One source has explained that Bucs are leading the race with a high probability of Otladisa following his former teammates Miguel Timm and Ndlondlo, to Orlando,” the leading transfer rumours outlet reported.
The 25-year-old Platinum Stars product is speedy, tall, and skilful, and it’s therefore no surprise he is targeted by the Soweto giants.
the Glamour Boys came narrowly close to signing Mmodi before the deal fell through in the eleventh hour.
With the January window fast approaching and Mmodi delivering four goals and one assist in nine games, the Sea Robbers are said to have taken interest in the 29-year-old star.
“While Chiefs remain interested, as confirmed by sources, Orlando Pirates are believed to have entered the race and posing serious threat of hijacking the deal, with the Houghton-based club keen on pleasing its supporters further, after the recent marquee signings of Kermit Erasmus and NdabayithethwaNdlondlo,” Mzansi’s leading transfer reporters, Soccer Laduma, said in their latest edition.
The report further confirmed that Mmodi’s contract with Arrows ends in June 2023, a fact that leaves Abafana Bes’thende with the risk to lose the player on a free pre-contract deal as of January.
We can expect Arrows to encourage Chiefs or Pirates to table an offer before the Theunissen-born player becomes available on a free transfer.
