Kaizer Chiefs lost to Chippa United on Saturday and lost the chance to top the DStv premier league.
There problem all started when Brandon Petersen replaced the injured Itumeleng Khune in goal for Chiefs, while Zitha Kwinika rejoined Khama Billiat on the bench.
Going into the match Ashley Du Preez and Bimenyimana were the most active for Amakhosi, but Du Preez’s 16-minute attempt was blocked.
Arthur Zwane’s troops faced resistance from Chippa as Kgaogelo Sekgota and Du Preez switched wings. Sekgota produced a deadly cut-back from the right but Keagan Dolly could only shoot straight at goalkeeper Lloyd Kazapua.
Siyabonga Ngezana broke the deadlock with a header from Dolly’s corner just before halftime. Six minutes after halftime, Etiosa Ighodaro’s tap-in for Chippa was disallowed for offside.
Siphelele Luthuli equalized for Morgan Mammila’s team after reacting quickly to a loose ball in the box. Zwane replaced Sekgota and Du Preez with Billiat and Siyethemba Sithebe before the hour mark.
