Former Mamelodi Sundowns forward has resurfaced at Motsepe Foundation Championship side Tuks.
Sekotlong has been training with University of Pretoria to impress head coach Tlisane Motaung and his technical team.
The attacker spent the last three DStv Premiership seasons with Chippa United and has now been spotted at Tuks.
“Well, we have few players training with the club but are not contracted to the team; the technical team is assessing them,” a club official at Tuks told FARPost.
“Sekotlong started training with us last month. It was late in the preseason. We also have two players from our varsity team; one of them has impressed the coach and will sign soon.
“But as I said, all the decisions to sign or not sign the players training with the club lie with the coach and his technical team; then we can make necessary official announcements.”
Tuks have lost a handful of their key players to Premiership sides, and Motaung may look into beefing up the squad to intensify the push for automatic promotion to the top flight.
With the Tshwane-based outfit having a relatively youthful squad, the 31-year-old could prove pivotal in bringing much-needed experience to the team.
Tuks were the runners-up in the second tier last season after Richards Bay won the Championship to gain promotion to the PSL.
The Students have seemingly put the disappointment behind them and have had an impressive start to the 2022/23 season.
Tuks have won four games, drew two and are one of the few sides yet to taste a defeat after six games played thus far.
University of Pretoria will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run to remain summit of the log when they face the struggling Magesi at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday. Kick-off is at 15:30.
