Kaizer Chiefs Football Club striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has set a new record in the Premier Soccer League after being able to score a hat-trick from the spot on Sunday afternoon.

According to FarPost, the Burundian striker is the first player to score a hat-trick this season in the Dstv Premiership and also theĀ FIRST ever player to score a hat-trick from the spot in the Premier Soccer League era.

Amakhosi were awarded the first penalty just before half-time, which was converted by Caleb. In the second half, they were rewarded two penalties in just a space of seven minutes.

Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana completed his hat-trick of penalties and was replaced by Nkosingiphile Ngcobo few minutes later.

Scoring three goals against Stellenbosch Football Club means the striker now has six goals overall. He is now level with the Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile.

Both Peter Shalulile and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana are the current top goalscorers in the Dstv Premiership this season.
