Lebogang Manyama, Daniel Akpeyi and Leonardo Castro were all released by Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season.

Philani Zulu, Kgotso Moleko and Augustine Mulenga on the other hand were all released by the KwaZulu-Natal based side, Amazulu Football Club. Usuthu was looking to pave way for new players at the club, which is why they released a number of players.
