Belgian coach Luc Eymael is linked with a return to Chippa United as part of the changes taking place at different clubs in the PSL during the FIFA international break.

Accprding to Soccer Laduma, Eymael previously coached three clubs in Mzansi’s topflight in Polokwane City, Free State Stars and Black Leopards, respectively.

Luc Eymael being linked with Chippa united does not shock everyone, In April last year, Eymael had been appointed as the technical advisor at Chippa United, following the departure of Dan Malesela who had been the coach of the side.

However, the appointment didn’t last for long, as the Eastern Cape club succumbed to pressure due to public outcry over alleged allegations of racism involving the mentor emanating from his time coaching in Tanzania.

With the Chilli Boys expected to make a decision on a permanent head coach after parting ways with Daine Klate recently, Eymael’s name has come up as a candidate for the Gqeberha-based outfit.

Administrator-turned-coach Morgan Mammila, who led Chippa to successive victories in the last two matches while working alongside assistant coach Siyabulela Gwambi, is said to be an admirer of Eymael.

“Morgan is a big fan of Luc as a coach, and everyone knows that,” said the source.

Contacted for comment, Eymael’s representative Brett Arthur confirmed that the 63-year-old would be open to return to Mzansi despite having recently joined Ittihad Misurata in Libya.

“Luc is coaching in Libya at the moment but he has a release clause there, and like I said, Luc’s always wanted to come back to South Africa. We know that wrongdoings got in the way of him coming back but that has all been rectified now.

“So, if a team in South Africa was interested, like Chippa, there’s certainly a way he could be released from his contract and could be on the plane as soon as possible,” said Arthur.
