Kermit Erasmus to Kaizer Chiefs. News reaching the media are that the out-of-favour Mamelodi Sundowns striker Kermit Erasmus believes that he can seal a deal to the Soweto giants.

According to The South African, Kermit Erasmus thinks that a move to Kaizer Chiefs Football Club is still possible for him before the June transfer window closes.

The South African Premier Soccer League June transfer window will officially close on the 22nd of September, which is five days away from now.

The Kaizer Chiefs Football Club head coach, Arthur Zwane stated that the club will no longer be signing players during the June transfer window, however, Kermit Erasmus still believes that a move to the Phefeni side is still possible.

A source has now revealed that it is almost impossible for other clubs in the Premier Soccer League to sign Kermit Erasmus, as his salary is too much.

If a club wants to sign him, Mamelodi Sundowns would have to pay at least half of his salary. Unless if he joins Kaizer Chiefs.

With Chiefs’ currently languishing just above the relegation zone, Zwane’s side’s struggles in front of goal have been well documented.

Despite adding the likes of Ashley du Preez, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Caleb-Bonfis Bimeninyama, to their forward, the club have only managed to score a paltry five goals in seven games, while conceding eight.

It would then not come as a surprise if the club’s management would be tempted to re-enter the market should a proven goal scorer become available.

Chiefs are set to take on one of Erasmus’ former clubs SuperSport United tonight, and drawing a blank there, could convince Zwane to re-think his stance.
