Zambian forward Lazarous Kambole is yet to earn game-time at his new club three months after his exit from Kaizer Chiefs.

Kambole was offloaded at Chiefs at the beginning of June and immediately joined Tanzania champions Young Africans on a two-year deal.

Three months later and with the Tanzania topflight having started, Kambole is yet to feature in an official match.

“Kambole is here but got injured on his hip in the second friendly match that we played during pre-season,” says a Yanga official.

“He then had three weeks off but has been back at training for the past two weeks

“We expect that he will be back in the next two weeks

“With a hip injury, we needed the club needed to take extra caution which is why he had to stay out first.

“He is now back at full training after completing his work with the fitness coach,” explains the Yanga official.

Minus Kambole, Yanga have already shot up to the top of the standings after three games and will continue without the Zambian in the first round, the first leg of the CAF Champions League against Zalan FC Rumbek of South Sudan on Saturday.

Kambole played 114 minutes last season at Chiefs and last played 90 minutes in March last year when Gavin Hunt kept him as Samir Nurkovic’s partner upfront for the entire duration of the victory over Orlando Pirates.

In three years at Chiefs, he scored two goals in 46 appearances and spent the last season transfer listed.
