Stellenbosch FC are believed to be not giving up on their pursuit of Orlando Pirates playmaker Collins Makgaka despite the club’s reluctance to negotiate his transfer.
The 26-year-old is yet to feature for the Buccaneers in 2022/23 and looks as the back-up for Thembinkosi Lorch in Jose Riveiro’s new-look 3-4-2-1 formation.
But Stellies see him as potential reinforcement that can transform an already impressive attack as he is capable of playing on either wing, in the 10 role or as a False 9 – a position they are currently lacking and are in need of, to move to the 4-3-3 tactical set-up.
The former Baroka man made just five league starts for the Soweto giants last season, scoring twice and registering as many assists.
Makgaka joined the Buccaneers from Bakgakga in 2020 but has only made 20 appearances for the Sea Robbers over the last two years.
