News that have just reached the media are that the Nigerian goalkeeper could be set to rejoin his former club after parting ways with Kaizer Chiefs Football Club few months ago.

According to Goal South Africa, Chippa united have shown interest in signing Daniel Akpeyi, who is currently a free-agent.

The 36-year old was signed by the Soweto giants back in January 2019 when they were still struggling with finding a goalkeeper.

The time Kaizer Chiefs Football Club signed Daniel Akpeyi from Chippa united, Itumeleng Khune was injured.

However, the competition at Amakhosi become even more tougher when they signed Brandon Peterson, who was a free-agent after parting ways with Bidvest wits.

Kaizer Chiefs currently has Itumeleng Khune, Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Peterson, that is one of the main reasons why they decided to release Daniel Akpeyi.

A source has now revealed that the Chilli boys are looking to seal the deal of Daniel Akpeyi before the June transfer window closes.
