Kaizer Chiefs will use THREE stadiums in THREE different provinces as their ‘home’ venues this season, and the PSL has approved.
For years now, Amakhosi have been using the FNB Stadium for all their home games – but that’s about to change.
As confirmed last week, Chiefs’ first of many ‘home away from home’ matches is against Richards Bay FC on Saturday, 20 August.
The match is penciled for Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium, the venue Chiefs are familiar with having previously taken their home games there.
Chiefs will then play all their September home matches at FNB Stadium before hosting their first October home fixture against Chippa United at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
According to the PSL fixture list, the game between Chiefs and Chippa will take place on Saturday, 15 October with kick-off scheduled for 17:30.
The Free State Stadium will again be the venue on two separate occasions when Chiefs host Royal AM and Golden Arrows on 29 January and 18 February 2023 respectively.
Amakhosi’s final home match away from home will be on 2 May 2023 when they take on Soweto rivals Swallows FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Now, this means Chiefs will only play 10 home fixtures at FNB Stadium this season while the other five will be played in the KwaZulu-Natal (2) and Free State (3) provinces.
