An Orlando Pirates defender could be heading out on loan once again, in what would be the sixth season he spends at a club other than at the Buccaneers.
Sandile Mthethwa looks set to be heading back to Chippa United, after once again finding himself surplus to requirements at Pirates.
The 25-year-old has spent the past three seasons on loan in Gqeberha, and has been a key figure for Chippa in their defence.
The former KwaZulu-Natal Academy player has actually spent most of his Pirates career out on loan, having also played for Richards Bay for two seasons.
In his seven years at the club, he has just one league appearance for the Buccaneers, which he got last season, before heading out on loan.
Now it seems likely that he could head back to Gqeberha, however that may depend on whether Pirates sign another defender, with the club having been linked with Swallows’ veteran Wandisile Letlabika.
