The list of players who were good in their former football clubs but failed to meet the expectations at Kaizer chiefs. Some players in the list were not given enough chances in the club.



Over the past few years, the South african club Kaizer chiefs have signed players who were considered as flops. After Stuart Baxter’s era, Kaizer Chiefs have been trophy less and by that they ended up signing players who failed to help the club win a silverware.

The list has the likes of Edmore Chirambadare, Mitchelle Katsvairo, Lewis Macha, Enocent Mkhabela and many more players.

Here is the full list:



LEWIS MACHA

The Zambian international Lewis Macha is on top of our list. After joining Kaizer chiefs a lot was expected from the as he scored in a friendly against Orlando pirates but he did not deliver at all.

He joined Kaizer chiefs in 2016 under Steve Komphela and left the Soweto giants in 2017 to join the Limpopo side Baroka Football Club. The striker made only four appearances and did not score a score in an official game.



MITCHELLE KATSVAIRO

Mitchelle Katsvairo joined the Soweto giants Kaizer chiefs from the Zimbabwean side Chicken Inn in 2016. The striker was tipped to become one of the greatest strikers in the club but did not deliver.

The former Kaizer chiefs striker Mitchelle Katsvairo made only 12 appearances for the club and only managed to score one goal. He was then loaned to Singida united in 2017.



ENOCENT MKHABELA

Enocent Thulani Mkhabela joined Kaizer chiefs from SuperSport united in 2016, the supporters were hoping that the player might be Willard Katsande’s replacement in the starting lineup. However, the former Platinum stars defensive midfielder did not even make a senior appearance for the Glamour Boys.

A year later, Enocent Mkhabela was loaned back to his former club Platinum stars in order to get more game time.



CAMALDINE ABRAW

Togolese international Camaldine Abraw was signed by Kaizer chiefs from Free State Stars. His arrival at Neturena did not make any impact as the player did not meet the expectations.

Abraw made 20 appearances for the Soweto giants Kaizer chiefs and only managed to find the back of the net four times.



JAMES KOTEI

James Kotei arrived at the beginning of this season in South Africa to join the Amakhosi club. He joined the club as a free agent after parting ways with Tanzanian side Simba SC.

Kaizer Chiefs might have lost a double in this deal as they parted ways with Dax in order to free up the foreign spot for James Kotei.



LETLHOGONOLO MIRWA

Scara Mirwa joined the Soweto giants Kaizer chiefs from the ABC Motsepe league side Buya Msuthu football club. The left-back player faced a tough competition from his teammates and did not make an official appearance for the club. His contract was later terminated by the Glamour Boys.



EDMORE CHIRAMBADARE

The Zimbabwean international Edmore Chirambadare joined the Soweto giants Kaizer chiefs from Chicken Inn together with his former teammate Mitchelle Katsvairo in 2015.

After a promising start at Neturena, Edmore Chirambadare did not meet the supporters expectations. He then joined Maccabi Football Club in 2018, but now the player is at Real kings.



GOFREY WALUSIMBI

The Ugandan left-back Godfrey Walusimbi arrived at Kaizer chiefs in 2018 after a successful trial with the club. Even though the player made only 10 appearances for the Glamour Boys, but he did not make that much impact in the Kaizer Chiefs team.

The 31-year old Godfrey Walusimbi is now playing for Vllaznia.



BONGOLWETHU JAYIYA

The former Cape Town City FC midfielder joined Kaizer chiefs in 2017. After scoring the fastest hat-trick in the Premier Soccer League, a lot was expected from the player but after arriving at Kaizer chiefs he did not make any impact.

The 30-year old is now a free-agent after parting ways with Kaizer chiefs in 2019.



KEAGAN BUCHANAN

Thanks to Eric Tinkler and Maritzburg united, Keagan Buchanan managed to save his career that was slowly fading away. The former Kaizer chiefs midfielder joined the club from Bloemfontein Celtic in 2016.

After spending two frustrating years at Amakhosi, Buchanan is now enjoying football again at Maritzburg united under Eric Tinkler.



Lazarous Kambole

Lazarous Kambole is one of the players who recently parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs. While he was at Amakhosi, he was not even able to reach half of the performance he was performing while he was still at Zesco united.



Some might say these players were not given enough chances to prove themselves in the club. But at the end of the day they did not meet the expectations at Kaizer chiefs.
