The midfielder’s contract with the Soweto giants is set to expire at the end of June.
Baccus joined Amakhosi in 2019 while German mentor Ernst Middendorp was in the hot seat, but has not been able to hold down a regular place in the squad. Now, as Amakhosi begin to plan for next season, he is not part of the squad they want to build.
“Baccus is definitely not staying at Chiefs. They have not made an offer and they don’t see him as part of their future plans. We have to accept that,” Makaab told the Siya crew.

The 30-year-old has made 12 appearances for the Soweto giants, struggling to get into the team ahead of the likes of Phathutshedzo Nange and Cole Alexander, who has usually featured whenever he is fit to play.
Baccus, who did not win any silverware while he was in the colours of Chiefs, will weigh up his options now that the season is over.
