A Father is devastated after his 12-year-old daughter was sexually assaulted and impregnated allegedly by a 42-year-old security guard.
The dad, from J Section in KwaMashu, north of Durban, told Daily Sun that his daughter, a grade 7 pupil at a local school, was raped and impregnated by a man living on their street.

“My wife and older daughter noticed that the 12-year-old was losing weight because she used to be chubby. On 23 October, they noticed that she was pregnant.”
“They sat her down and asked her who made her pregnant, and she told them that a man who lives on the same street as ours, just a few houses away, made her pregnant,” said the dad.
He said his daughter explained she was on her way to the tuckshop when the suspect, whom she knew, called her over.
“She said the suspect sent her to buy him a voucher and snacks. When she went to his house to deliver what she had bought for him, he allegedly raped her repeatedly inside his house and threatened to kill her if she screamed.”
The dad said his wife and daughter went to confront the man at his house, where his partner told them he was sleeping.
“The baby mama woke him up, and they took him back to our house, where my daughter was.”
“They brought the man into the house and asked my daughter, in front of him, who had made her pregnant. My daughter said it was him. He denied everything and accused my daughter of lying.”
They then took the girl to the hospital, and the case was escalated until the suspect was arrested.
“We found out that she is three months pregnant. She stayed silent because the man threatened to kill her if she told anyone.”
“Out of fear, she complied with his threats. However, now that her pregnancy has been discovered, it’s clear this man has been repeatedly raping her,” said the dad.
He stated that the painful part about this matter is that he has no clue about how the case is proceeding.
“I’ve been told that the suspect appeared in court and was granted bail, but I’m not sure because I don’t know what is going on,” said the angry dad.
He added that the ordeal has affected his daughter, and she now seems to be withdrawn and slower.
KZN police spokeswoman Captain Ntathu Ndlovu confirmed that detectives from the Inanda Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit have arrested a 42-year-old suspect in connection with a rape case that reportedly started on 31 December 2024 in KwaMashu J Section.
“It’s reported that the victim was on her way to a tuckshop when she was called by the suspect, who was known to her.”

“The suspect sent her to buy him a voucher and snacks but when the unsuspecting girl went to his house to deliver what she had bought for him, the suspect allegedly raped her repeatedly inside his house after promising to kill her if she screamed,” said Ndlovu.
She said the suspect made his first appearance in the Pinetown Magistrates Court on Monday, 4 November.
